Homemade Turkey Chili

This high protein, delicious and hearty chili is packed full of meat and spices and simmered to perfection for some excellent healthy comfort food!

Homemade Turkey Chili

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 to 3 lbs ground turkey (Hamburger or Venison also go great)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1/2 green pepper, diced
  • 1/2 cup chopped green chilies (optional)
  • 1 stalk celery, finely diced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14 oz) beef broth
  • 5 tbsp chili powder, divided
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cumin, divided
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon powder
  • 1 can Ranch beans

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a pot add turkey, diced onion, chilies (optional, green pepper, and celery. Brown the meat and other ingredients.
  2. Add in tomato sauce, beef broth, and cook for 30 mins.
  3. Add in 3 tbsp chili powder, garlic powder, salt, 1/2 tbsp cumin, pepper, chicken powder, and ranch beans. Simmer for 2 hrs.
  4. Add in remaining 2 tbsp chili powder, 1/2 tbsp cumin, and smoked paprika. Simmer for additional 30 mins. Extra beef broth can be added to thin as necessary.

  • Goes great topped with sour cream and sprinkled with cheese.
  • This recipe is amazing done with Venison!
