Homemade Sausage Pinwheels

These hearty pinwheels are the perfect blend of sausage and cheese on the inside and crispy, flaky dough on the outside.

BAKE TIME: 20 mins

WAIT TIME: 5 mins to cool

TOTAL TIME: 55 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups Bisquick Mix
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 lb. mild sausage
  • 1 lb. cheddar cheese

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix bisquick with milk. Knead and roll out dough to 16″x12″. Pat down raw sausage onto dough, filling in all, leaving 1/2″ on top side of dough. Sprinkle grated cheese all over.
  2. Roll up from bottom, jelly roll style. Use a bit of water to seal together and sprinkle with dry bisquick. Roll up in wax paper and foil, then freeze till firm or ready to cook.
  3. Thaw 15 mins before slicing. Slice each pinwheel 1/2′ thick. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 for 20 mins.
