Homemade Lasagna

A staple dish for the fry fam this layered pasta dish is filled with layers of meat, cheese, and creamy filling. A delicious, rich dish for any Italian night.

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 (26 oz) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 lbs cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded and divided
  • 1 tbsp parsley

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cook noodles according to package. In a medium skillet cook ground beef until browned. Combine spaghetti sauce and beef. In a large baking pan, cover bottom of pan with a thin layer of meat and sauce mixture, then a layer of 3 lasagna noodles on top.
  2. Mix the cottage cheese, eggs, 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, cream cheese, and parsley in a bowl. Put a layer of this cheese mixture on top of the noodles. Cover with 1/3 mozzarella cheese.
  3. Add another thin layer of sauce and repeat the layering twice more noodles, then cheese mixture, then mozzarella.
  4. End layer of noodles with sauce and meat mixture and sprinkle with remaining parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake at 350 for 30-45 mins, until bubbly.
