Homemade Beef Stroganoff

This stroganoff is very rich and delicious. Packed with protein this can be served over rice or noodles.

Homemade Beef STroganoff

BAKE TIME: 1 hr

WAIT TIME: 5 mins to cool

TOTAL TIME: 1 hr 20 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 tbsp shortening
  • 2 lb cooked beef, cubed
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 (4 oz) can mushrooms (including liquid)
  • 1/2 cup celery, diced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • A dash of pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Brown the onions in the hot shortening. Drain. Stir in the remaining ingredients.
  2. Turn into a greased casserole dish and bake at 325 for 1 hour.

Fry Fam’S TIPS

  • You can also make this by simmering it on the stove over low heat. When all the flavors are blended it is ready to serve.
  • Goes well over rice or egg noodles.
