Delicious Homemade Cookie Brownies

Passed down to my mom from her great aunt. These fudge-filled brownies have a cookie crumb base that makes them an absolutely irresistible treat!

Delicious Homemade Cookie Brownies

PREP TIME: 15 mins

BAKE TIME: 25 mins

WAIT TIME: 5 mins to cool

TOTAL TIME: 45 mins

INGREDIENTS

1st Half

  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups oatmeal
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla

2nd Half

  • 1 (6 oz) pkg chocolate chips
  • 1 (6 oz) pkg butterscotch chips
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 2 tsp vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS

1st Half

  1. Cream brown sugar, 3/4 cup margarine. Add rest of ingredients and mix well. Reserve one cup of mixture. Press rest in the bottom of 9×13 greased pan.

2nd Half

  • Melt chips, milk, and margarine until smooth in top of double boiler. Add vanilla and pour over crust in pan.
  • Sprinkle and crumble remaining cup of 1st Half crust mixture over top and bake at 350 for 25 mins.

Fry Fam’S TIPS

  • These brownies are great warm, but they also maintain their chewy consistency when frozen.
  • Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a brownie a la’ mode!
