Meat N’ Cheese Stromboli

This is another fry fam favorite. Thick, crispy, crust packed with Italian spices, peppers, onions, and loaded with cheese and meats. This is a classic that is delicious from the first bite to the last.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 medium onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 medium green pepper, sliced into rings
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 frozen pizza dough’s, thawed
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced hard salami
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced deli ham
  • 1/2 pound sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 pound sliced mild cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a large skillet, saute onion and green pepper until crisp-tender; set aside.
  2. On two greased baking sheets, spread each of the pizza doughs into a 15x12in rectangle. Arrange the salami, ham, and cheeses lenghtwise over half of each rectangle to within 1/2 inch of edges. Top with onion mixture; sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic powder and pepper. Fold dough over filling; pinch edges to seal well.
  3. Brush with egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds (optional). Bake at 400 for 15-20 mins or until golden brown. Cool for 5-10 mins before slicing.

  • Pairs great with pizza sauce, ranch or your favorite dressing for dipping!
  • Is an excellent hors d’oeuvre as well when cut into thin slices.
